PROJECT NAME : Buffalo Boat Glenelg
LOCATION : 1 Adelphi Terrace, Glenelg SA
D&V Services completed the demolition of the South Australian famous Buffalo Boat at the Marina in Glenelg.
Due to the high-profile project and busy location, an exclusion zone was created, our specialized high-reach excavator was transported to site and the demolition commenced.
Works were completed carefully and with great precision, to ensure no material entered the water and caused pollution to the marina.

PROJECT NAME : Ingham Chicken Feed Mill
LOCATION : Lot 1169 Flagstaff Rd, White Sands SA
Removal and disposal of 1025sqm of friable sprayed vermiculite asbestos, as well as asbestos ceilings, roofing, dust and gaskets, followed by a total demolition and site clearance of 4-storey industrial feed mill.

PROJECT NAME : Broken Hill Health Service
LOCATION : Broken Hill, SA
Contracted by Hutchinson Builders in early 2018 to complete the demolition of various buildings at the Broken Hill Hospital for redevelopment.
Works included the removal and disposal of asbestos throughout and a vacuum of the ceiling space of all lead and contamination.
Demolition consisted of three separate wings of the Hospital, removal of all associated footings and landscape, leaving the site clear for future works. Two excavators were floated to site to allow for simultaneous demolition to permit for a strict program.
All memorabilia items were salvaged for the community.

PROJECT NAME : Gepps Cross Abattoirs
LOCATION : Gepps Cross, SA
The complete demolition of the old abattoirs at 600 Main North Road, Gepps Cross, including the removal of abundant asbestos containing materials.
Approximately 12,000 tonne of soil remediation and concrete crushing was carried out during the project duration.

PROJECT NAME : Chifley Hotel Refurbishment
LOCATION : 226 South Tce, Adelaide SA
A combination of demolition, asbestos removal and lead dust extraction.
This project consisted of the complete internal defit of existing hotel and motel; all door, walls, ceilings and internal fittings were removed, leaving a bare shell for the refurbishment.
External demolition was also completed, demolishing external structures, canopies, existing pool and spa, kerbing and landscape.
Various asbestos material was removed throughout, as well as lead dust which was discovered during the demolition. A secure plastic bubble enclosure was erected to complete the removal of significant lead and friable asbestos which included the use of negative air units and decontamination showers.

Demolition of internal slabs, canopy and façade all completed under asbestos removal conditions.
Friable asbestos removal completed to structural steel with a decontamination and hygiene clean.

PROJECT NAME : Modbury Hospital Upgrade
LOCATION : Modbury Hospital
The Modbury Hospital Upgrade finalized in June 2021, this project involved much planning and a sensitive approach being carried out in a working hospital environment.
Including an asbestos hygiene clean within all levels throughout the hospital from Basement to Level 5.
Demolition works completed included service termination, penetrations, removal of all man-made features including; paving, retaining walls, gazebos, plant and shrubbery, roads, kerbing, stairs, entry canopies and precast panels. Temporary engineering propping was also installed and prepared by D&V Services.
Civil works was also completed to OPD, included bulk earthworks, subgrade improvement and installation of building plateau.
Works were carried out to a strict program for dust control to meet infection control requirements within each stage. No dust, water or foreign objects were allowed to enter any spaces outside the construction zone. Dust extraction fans and filtration systems were installed to negatively pressurize the work zone and contain any dust. Daily site cleans were carried out on the completion of each day, the complete work zone, including any paths travelled were frequently cleaned to ensure compliance to infection control requirements.
In addition to dust control, noise suppression was also an issue to overcome, being within a working hospital, all equipment and plant had to used with discretion to not cause a nuisance to public, staff and patients.
98% of waste materials removed from site was taken for recycling.

PROJECT NAME : Penrice Site Redevelopment
LOCATION : Solvay Road, Port Adelaide
The complete decommissioning of the old Penrice site, located in Osborne, including the including removal of significant amounts of friable asbestos throughout the industrial site.
Demolition includes multiple large multistorey buildings, recycling and crushing of waste materials on site.
This project began in 2018 and is still currently underway.
