PROJECT NAME : Lionsgate Business Park

LOCATION : Plant 5

D&V Services achieved full regulatory compliance, securing Safework SA notification and obtaining all necessary neighbouring. We provided essential equipment, and resources including transport, access equipment and site bins. A dedicated on-site superior oversaw the project. This project consisted of the removal and disposal of all hazardous materials located within Plant 5, totalling 9600m2 of asbestos roofing and 1600m2 of asbestos wall cladding.

Upon removal of the asbestos, internal demolition works commenced, removing roof ducts, eliminating internal buildings and structures, cut and removal of all in-ground tracks and removal of plinths within the project area. Upon completion of all internal and manual demolition tasks, we utilised machinery to demolish the remaining structures.

This project encompassed the safe and efficient demolition and asbestos removal at Plant 5 of the Lionsgate Business Park formerly known as Holdens Factory, ensuing full compliance with regulations and strict adherence to safety and environment standards. D&V successfully completed this project, demonstrating our commitment to quality and safety in all aspects of the work.

PROJECT NAME : GPO Hotel

LOCATION : King William Street, Adelaide

Commencing early June 2021, as part of the historic General Post Office redevelopment on King William Street, Adelaide. D&V services were contracted by Besix Watpac to complete the demolition and friable asbestos removal to all seven floors of the building.

Upon mobilisation to site, it was also discovered to have lead dust contaminates throughout the building, D&V Services are not also completing the removal of the lead dust in addition to our contract works also, which is completed in a full plastic bubble enclosure with 2 stage
decontamination stations and negative air pressure.

Due to lead contaminates, lead blood testing and health monitoring for our removalists on site are being carried out to a strict program to ensure the health and safety of our staff.

Strict regulations are in place for the removal of both friable asbestos and lead dust, D&V Services have a dedicated WHS Representative for this project, a full time Project Manager and detailed project plans in place for the project activities, to ensure a smooth project duration and successful completion.

Upon the removal of all contaminates, D&V Services continued to undertake the mechanical demolition and building separation of 7 storey building, using our specialised long reach demolition excavator to height of 28m, focusing on limited access.
The giant hydraulic shear attachment deconstructed the building piece by piece in a meticulously planned demolition process. Demolishing large structures is normally labour intensive and involves cranes and small machinery making it time consuming, expensive, and dangerous.

The capabilities of the ultra-high reach demolition excavator made works extremely cost effective and minimise the risk to our site personnel and adjoining properties. Using the new equipment meant less noise and dust emissions.
D&V worked closely with client to ensure all asbestos, lead dust and tarmacadam was identified, recorded, and removed and disposal off site at an EPA licenced waste facility. Recycling was a key component to the success of the project, with up to 95% of materials removed from site recycled.

D&V Services have also now been contracted by Beswix Watpac to complete the Civil Construction Contract for the project.
